As Matteo states “Transbohem classify themselves as World Prog Metal, which is a pretty ambitious definition”. Yes, you have heard right, this Franch band mix in their sound “metal, with frequents changes of tempo, rhythm and atmosphere, passing from prog metal to arabian music”. “This album is very challenging to listen to” but “keeps always your attention at a high level”. Also the particularity of this release is their vocalist Claire that “doesn’t actually “sings” but she pretty much adds to the general atmosphere with her vocal abilities, creating a very suggestive result”. In conclusion, our editor has high hopes for this band but they “have to define and develop their sound”. Besides this remark, he ends saying that Transbohêm “are going to be one of the most interesting bands in the years to come”.

Montreal based Progressive Gothic metal band AraPacis with the 3rd album “Netherworld” out via Ravenheart Music, offers a platter full of different musical influences like doom à la Candlemass and hard rock. In addition to this, lead vocalist Lizzie Fyre not only uses her clean vocal technique but also, in a few songs, an extreme style. Tony has just stated that AraPacis are “fast becoming one of the best bands out of the Canadian metal scene.”, so what are you expecting for? For what I get UK gothic metal band Apparition has again tornado-ed its line up but this doesn’t matter really ‘cause when a band releases a top album this fact needs the complete attention: are really rare the case that a reviewer calls THE “album of their career” and this is the moment. Apparition’s “For Vengeance… and for Love” out on Mëtal Compass for Tony is THE album of their career. I don’t want to spoil the whole review but if this album was rated 91 out 100, it’s a good reason to reading it. More @ (via Apparition – “For Vengeance… And for Love” (2012) « Femme Metal Webzine)

Let’s stay close and from Ukraine now we go to Russia always under the same label (Solitude Productions) with the debut of the Atmospheric Gothic Doom metal band AUT MORI called “Первая Слёза Осени” (“Pervaya Slyoza Oseni” – “The First Tears of Autumn”). This bands features in its ranks three former members of Auto-De -Fe and this album was mastered by Jerry Torstensson that figures here as the guest drummer too. Also the album sees the guest starring by Olof Gothlin, responsible for the violins on Draconian’s “A Rose for the Apocalypse”. You love 80’s AOR? You are nostalgic of that era? So Nubian Rose’s debut “Mountain” is totally for you! Read below an excerpt of what our reviewer Tony thinks about : “Nubian Rose has written some cool songs with an up-beat, infectious, ready-for-radio style. The 80s influence is there, there’s no denying it, but on “Mountain” Nubian Rose is able to fuse the best of the 80s with modern day AOR melodic hard rock influences.” Continue @ (via Nubian Rose – “Mountain” (2012) « Femme Metal Webzine)
