Webzine dedicated to the metal band fronted by girls. We also like ambient, darkwave, rock & electronic music.

As you can see from the cover album, it’s a “Space / Sci-fi / Sci-fi fantasy” concept album released by Russian Extreme Melodic Metal bandSunwalter. For “SETI Evidence” our reviewer sets as references some masterpieces such as “Nexus Polaris” era The Kovenant and “Beneath an Alien Sky” era Mindcrime for its “themes and soundscapes”. Vard has only high praises for its vocalists that are mutually shared between Alexio Sunwalter and Natalia Sibilskaya [singer also in Pesante], in partucular about Alexio he says : “Alexio has no shortage of skill and versatility at his disposal – from clean vocals to spoken words, and from deep Death Metal growls to Black Metal shrieks”. Instead about Natalia, he’s happy in a manner that she hasn’t used “her operatic style” and she has focused on her “awesome” “”rock” voice”. Although its musical variety that in some ways can be an obstacle [“It is a style and a formula that made the album difficult to listen to at first”] , our mighty reviewer achieved this mission and he “strongly recommend this album to every single Terran who appreciates good Metal!”.

Canada’s Edge of Attack have “simply delivered a debut that that is relentless, ferocious and consistent” - with this words Tony defines their debut. What Edge of Attack propose is a special formula that “combines power metal with some old school thrash metal, some modern elements […] with healthy doses of melody”. Just add to this recipe Roxanne Gordley’s “excellent voice” and Jurekk Whipple’s “aggressive vocals”[who plays the guitar too] plus put together all this elements , what to remains to is imagine its outcome, what an an explosive outcome, I might add.

(@tystnadenband) Finally I can publish this review and personally I cannot wait to sink my teeth into this awesome album. My friends Tystnaden are back, “after being silent for the last few years”, with “Anima”, their third album. The highlight’s album that Tony points out are “the duel vocals between Laura De Luca and keyboardist Giancarlo Guarrera” that “continue to be a high point for this band and they have never sounded better”. After this, what we can add? Well, ““Anima” is a kick-ass return”. Just a little update : the last news sees Giada Etro [singer for Croatian doom metallers Ashes You Leave] replacing TEMPORARILY Laura De Luca for the upcoming gigs.

Well, we can use only Tony’s words for describeTatiana’s Niovi “Breath of Light” debut album : “beautiful, passionate, full of heart and cinematic”. But let’s do a step back and present a little the band - “they hail from Greece” and tag their music Melodic Symphonic Rock & Soundtrack Music, it is fronted by the lead vocalist Tatiana Manolidou that according to our reviewer : [she] “has a tremendously expressive and diverse voice”. Tony closes his piece stating that in “Breath of Life” “there are so many interesting music layers”.

An epic breakout for the German Melodic/Power/Symphonic Metallers Envinya. “Inner Silence”, the band’s debut released under MASSACRE RECORDS, wins over our reviewer Tony that declares : “I really have grown to be a big fan of Envinya after listening to “Inner Silence””. What the band plays is a mix of “symphonic, power and prog metal” with a “a great melodic base”. The highlight of this platter are Natalie Perreira dos Santos’s “pretty diverse voice” that she’s able to sing in “different styles”. The singer has left the band and at the moment Envinya is searching for a new singer and Tony adds about Natalia’s next replecement : “She is going to be a tough act to follow for anyone that replaces her”.

Probably we talking about “THE album of the year” and we’re referring to “the Swedish melodic metal band Amaranthe” after their 2011 self titled debut - according to Tony Amaranthe’s “album created a huge buzz in the metal world”- are back in 2013 with their second album “The Nexus” under Spinefarm Records. Our reviewer Tony simply said: ” “The Nexus” is a solid follow up to their debut and should further cement their reputation as one of the best young bands on the metal planet”. So go get it, don’t miss out this release!

German Melodic Power Metal band Dawn of Destiny is back after 3 years of (musical) silence with their fourth album called “Praying to the World” and the brand “new vocalist Jeanette Scherff” that replaces Tanja Maul. Although Jeanette’s vocal style is quite different from the old singer, Tony for “any doubters” advices to listen to the song “Misunderstood” because Jeanette delivers an “amazing performance on this song” with a nice background of “tempo changes, orchestration, some great duel vocals and an awesome guitar solo”. We would like to remember also that “Praying to the World” is out in 2 different edition : the regular and “the limited edition” that “features 2-bonus tracks” in addition to the 13 songs that are present in the other edition. In conclusion, Tony states : “Dawn of Destiny has definitely released an ambitious album that should hopefully gain the attention of the power metal faithful”.

It’s with pleasure that we give space, for the second time, to one of the most promising young band that in the last years are receiving positive praises from all over the world and I’m speaking about Swedish melodic modern metal band Amaranthe. Our editor Alessandra was so lucky to interview their leading lady Elize Ryd (Elize Ryd Off. Page). Not so many fans know that Elize is a belly dancer too and about this she states : “I must confess that I have never done belly dancing before I did it on stage with Kamelot. I love dancing in general. I am a professional ballet, modern and jazz -dancer, and all dancing technique comes from ballet so If you know the grounds it makes it very easy for you to catch up other styles”. Elize’s not afraid to declare that she will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest only if “I got a really great song, or If I wrote one myself I feel represents me in the perfect way” but “so far I am not ready to take that challenge, but maybe in the future”. When Elize is questioned about that famous Nightwish gig in Denver, Colorado, US on September 28, 2012 she says : “I was scared, and at first I felt really sorry for the fans. I could really feel the disappointment. But then Tuomas asked the audience if they wanted to see the show anyways without Anette and instead having me and Alissa as guest, and everybody cheered the highest cheer I have ever heard, there was no doubt”.

Switzerland’s Eluveitie doesn’t any further introduction so without ado we present you this latest release called “The Early Years” that, as Tony states, “is a great way to delve into the beginnings of this band and older fans may be interested in the re-recorded versions of older material” because ” “The Early Years” is a re-recording of their rare “Ven” EP; and next 11-songs is their debut album “Spirit” which has been re-mastered”. In the end, with this platter the folk metallers are not offering anything new but “this is an interesting package for fans old and new”.
